Research process diagram, Ally Merrett, 2021

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Cover page with project title, your name, course name and semester, and submission date; include a cover image and caption if relevant

  • One sentence project summary and five keywords

  • Revised abstract (300 words)

  • Description of research methods (at least 500 words—explain your process in detail); images may be included here as well

  • Precedents and/or case studies (briefly describe case studies you’ll look at in the capstone studio, or provide examples of research projects similar to yours that can act as precedents for your study)

  • Images with captions and citations (minimum 5, but include as many as you like)

  • Annotated bibliography (minimum 20 sources, with variety between books, academic articles, popular press pieces, podcasts, exhibitions, films, or other media as they pertain to your study. Images should be listed here but do not count toward your 20 items)

** I suggest using Adobe InDesign to layout the proposal on 8.5x11 vertical or horizontal pages. I can provide a tutorial in class for this software if needed.
