ASSIGNMENT

Choose a data set of interest to you using the sources suggested during the GIS tutorial (plus other links below). You are not limited to these resources, but these are a good place to start in terms of data that are comprehensive and reliable. You might continue your research topic from Unit 1, or explore something different.

Create one map using GIS and one non-spatial diagram using a software of your choosing. The images should help you explain a topic, issue, or problem, or help you make an argument for changing an existing condition.

Each image should be laid out on its own 11x17 sheet and printed for your presentations in the first week of October. Make sure to keep track of your sources and cite them on your layouts.
