FINAL REVIEW REQUIREMENTS

For the final review, you will produce a series of boards that includes revisions to your site design post-midterm. Each board should be 24x36 landscape orientation. You will present these as “slides” during your review, and also upload them to Miro as boards so that the critics can zoom in, annotate, and comment. You will have a designated spot to organize your images on the digital whiteboard.

Download Template and Drawing Examples and see more examples on Box.

Board 1: Title Project title, your name(s), course title, date

Board 2: Thesis Statements 1-2 sentences maximum stating your overall strategy and intentions. How are you approaching COVID as a problem, and what is your design doing (i.e., how is it performing)? You should have one statement for the site and one statement for the building design. These statements can be paired with concept diagrams if needed. Text should be at least 48pt font.

Board 3: Revised Site Strategy Diagrams A series of 3-5 abstract diagrams (plan and/or oblique) that clearly describe the scope of your site interventions. These should be small-scale and show the primary urban moves. If you are thinking about your project in “layers,” show each layer individually and then together. Drawing titles should be at least 30pt font.

Board 4: Revised Oblique Your oblique site drawing should fill this board completely. If you have labels or callouts, they should appear at least 24pt font.

Board 5: Revised Design Guidelines A series of plan, section, elevation, and/or oblique views of different components of your project (required ones are listed below), with dimensional and graphic information about how each component achieves social distancing measures. These should be revised from the midterm based on any changes you have made to your site design. Use additional boards as needed.

Board 6: Revised Site Perspectives/Collages Minimum two views showing important site conditions. Use additional boards as needed.

Board 7: Building Diagrams 3D program diagram and building circulation diagram (oblique or isometric views recommended).

Boards 8-9: Floor Plans One ground level floor plan and one typical residential plan (1/8” or 1/4” scale recommended).

Board 10: 3D Building Section Peeled-away section view showing interior spaces and activities (oblique or isometric views recommended; section perspective is possible if a better fit for the project).

Board 11: Airflow Section Detail Demonstrate an understanding of airflow needs at a particular location in the building. Choose a 2D or 3D view depending on what explains the condition the best.

Board 12: Residential Unit Details 3D views of one-person and multi-person occupancy rooms or apartments (oblique or isometric views recommended).

Board 13: Exterior Building Rendering/Collage Minimum one exterior view. Use additional boards as needed.

Board 14: Interior Renderings/Collages Minimum two interior views. Use additional boards as needed.

Optional extras: Additional diagrams explaining building; animation of drawings or fly-through of project; physical model.
